With MiC in your mixed fleet
Lower operating costs –
today, not in 10 years

Retrofitting is faster than buying new.

This reduces your operating costs:

  • Immediate compatibility in mixed fleets – no isolated solutions, no downtime due to incompatibility.
  • Uniform operation – fewer operating errors, no need for duplicate training on different systems.
  • Backward compatible & OEM-independent – no need to buy new machines and tools, no manufacturer restrictions for the entire fleet.

Retrofit your fleet with MIC 4.0 BUS.
Then each of your attachments will fit every one of your excavators.

CoPilot CPX Terminal

One display for everything that matters on the construction site.

  • One system for all brands – tools and assistance from different manufacturers can be controlled on one display.
  • More speed on the construction site – 2D, level and fencing directly integrated, faster tool change, no downtime due to incorrect operation.
  • Easy retrofitting – existing machines remain in use, the control system is simply added.
  • Full compatibility – Uniform operation, uniform language between excavator and tool, with MiC and non-MiC!

With the CPX terminal, you can make your fleet more productive, safer, and future-proof – regardless of the manufacturer.

Let's make your fleet compatible!

F&A

  • What specific benefits does retrofitting bring me on the construction site?

Retrofitting with MIC 4.0 BUS makes your mixed fleet compatible: every attachment fits every excavator. This saves time when changing attachments, reduces scheduling effort, and prevents damage caused by incorrect settings. All without having to buy new machines.

  • Do I need to buy new machines to use MiC 4.0?

No. The Vemcon CoPilot retrofits your tools and excavators – quickly, modularly, and without manufacturer restrictions. Your current fleet remains fully usable.

  • How long does retrofitting take?

That depends on the machine. Usually 1-2 days per machine.

  • Does this work with all manufacturers?

Yes. The Vemcon interface supports all common hydraulic systems (CAN, analog, PWM, joystick). MiC4.0 ensures that devices from different manufacturers can communicate with each other.

  • Can I continue to use old attachments?

Yes. CoPilot is backward compatible. Old devices continue to work, and new MiC 4.0 devices can be integrated immediately.

  • What assistance systems are available?

The following assistance systems are available:

    • Quick coupler and tiltrotator control
    • Automatic tool recognition
    • 2D assistance
    • Dynamic scale (weighs while moving)
    • Fencing and grading function
  • Give me three good reasons why I should upgrade!
    • Fewer operating errors → greater safety & less downtime
    • Greater productivity → faster construction site processing
    • Easier operation → faster training and more flexible deployment of drivers
  • How does retrofitting help with maintenance?

Our ToolTracker delivers real-time usage data to your fleet management system. This makes maintenance easier to plan, and wear parts are only replaced when necessary – saving on materials and service costs.

If you don’t have a fleet management system, you can use our cloud solution.

  • What data will I receive at the office?

The Vemcon Tooltracker provides the following data:

    • Operating times
    • Location
    • Machine data

All in a uniform format – compatible with your fleet or ERP system. No more data clutter.

  • What will be installed?

That depends on your excavator type and the desired equipment. As a rule, retrofitting includes:

    • On the boom: MiC 4.0 bus connector and cable for connecting attachments and controls.
    • In the cab: CPX terminal, new joysticks (if necessary), and input modules for operating and displaying all functions.
    • In the engine compartment: Modules for valve control.

All components are installed in OEM quality and are fully MiC 4.0-compatible – for future-proof, uniform machine control.

  • How much does retrofitting cost?

Less than the cost of investing in new machinery – with full functionality. We offer customized packages, for example, to start with a pilot project with 3-5 excavators and 3 attachments.

  • How do I get started?

Define 3-5 test excavators. We provide support with selection, installation, and training. After 4-12 weeks of experience, you will know how MiC 4.0 is changing your fleet.

  • Who is doing the conversion?

The retrofit can be carried out by your dealer, a certified Vemcon partner, or Vemcon Service. Training and instruction are included.

  • Do I have to train my drivers?

A brief introduction is sufficient. Operation is then consistent and intuitive on all of your excavators, comparable to modern smartphones – after 30 minutes, every operator can work safely.
